Book Title: My Three Wives Are Beautiful Vampires. (Victor Weismann) Rating 5 Stars Chapters 350/350 as of 6/30/22 Plot: Excellent the novel’s plot is simple and straightforward. Victor was bitten by vampires and ended up being married to three gorgeous wives. As he goes from average human to undead progenitor, the story revolves around his journey, the battles he fights, and the decisions he chooses that affect not only him but the entire universe of the novel. The book uses a large cast of characters to show the readers the depth of the world the author has created. The novel's sheer scope is amazing, ranging from vampires, werewolves, youkai, and deities from different mythologies. And how it melds together is breathtaking; the novel can show you a different world. In my opinion, that is the goal of any book, and My Three Wives has that not just in spades but buckets. Story flow: Excellent The story flow is good, the flow follows numerous points of view, but the writing style is so adept that it feels like you are watching a movie. They do not go against each other and form a cohesive narrative that is further improved by the Author’s excellent use of visualized depictions of places, objects, or people themselves. The characters contribute to the story because of the unique personalities of each; many times, while reading, numerous fans commented similarly on what they expected Victor and the Wives to do, and often The Author never failed to deliver. I found this particularly pronounced in Victor’s rescue of Ophis from Japan; plenty criticized his slow buildup, only for all of them to shut up in wonder as Victor delivered a ferocious battle of mythical proportions. Favorite Chapter: Tied between [344 Crimson Nightmare 2] (Battle) [296 My Wife Forgive me 2] (Drama) [322 Feelings Put on a Piece of Paper] (Fluffy) My favorites are tied to 344, 296, and 322 for the reasons I stated above; this is to show the pieces that make up My Three Wives; people often say that harems are basically trash novels only good for self-inserts and die in under a year. My Three Wives proves that Harems are not trash, and it continues to do well, but not for the reasons many think. Yes, My Three Wives has a harem, and yes, it feels good to self-insert, especially when you have three Yanderes (more as the story progresses) running after you. But what sets this novel apart is its emphasis on characters. 1st My Three Wives heavily focuses on the battle, the vampires are warriors, and the main cast is the strongest. 344 is the highlight of what I read in terms of battle; it showcases the insanity of how undead beings fight. I mean, who expects inhumane, immortal beings to follow the battle conventions of men. And the depiction of such combat is explored in depth. A good example is Victor’s use of a calvary blade as a weapon. Normal anime and books do not show how and only emphasize strength is all that is needed to accomplish such a feat. Victors focus on speed as well. And this is explained by his wrists, which can carry more weight and heal when damaged upon turning a gigantic sword. I was amazed when I saw this. It showed the author’s depth of understanding of sword techniques to understand such realistic factors in combat. 296 is the absolute epitome of drama from what I read. Basically, Victor, the MC, did something horrible to one of his wives, and the chapters are about how he reconciles with her. I remember getting goosebumps and tearing up as the entry scene of Violet’s breakdown was so well done that I was left breathless. Her rage, despair, sadness, confusion, and even hatred were depicted so well that you completely understand why she acted the way she did. And Victor’s response was also consistent with his character and feeling of actions up to that point. This masterful scene alone is worthy of praise. The novel is absolutely peppered with them. The characters are all so real. It is awe-inspiring. The engagement of those who read is not by luck but by pure skill. Suppose Victor (Author) wrote in FL. I guarantee he would still rock as hard as he is now. Lastly, 322 is the opposite of 296; 322 is the amends victor makes to violet after the scene, and it showcases the pure emotion contained in words written by our MC. The feelings the wives feel the comedy, the spite thrown at Natalie. It was so complementary and well done that you cannot help but understand why they love Victor so much. The novel is again full of such scenes that will have you keel over from diabetes. You could remove the battle and the drama and only leave the fluffy scenes, and this novel will still beat out many others. That’s how good it is. In summary, the three components make this harem novel more than it is. It is indeed a self-insert. But the battles and drama complete with the fluffy blow its competition out of the water. I cannot praise it enough. Favorite Character: Tie between Violet, Ruby, Sasha Dude, the novel is named My Three wives; what did you expect. The wives are the best part of this novel; their interactions, affection, personalities, struggles, and dreams. Each wife’s development is so well written that they could have a book for themselves. From the journey of Violet to a lazy NEET to a responsible clan leader as she is forced to mature. Sasha’s struggles from a revenge-obsessed vampire who gave up on the world to a Tsundere that melts your heart. Ruby is not to be left behind as she develops from an ice queen burdened by responsibilities to a protective crazy scientist who will stop at nothing to protect her family. I could enumerate all the main wives, including their moms, but I personally like the original three wives best. Each is such a good depiction of a yandere that it is so fascinating and believable you would think they actually existed. Three things I liked 1. Yanderes and the personification of Greed While most of society deems yanderes as psychotic bombs there is a reason why WN loves them. this is actually demonstrated in-depth by the novel that gives character to the Yanderes that it makes them unique characters despite having the same trait. The weight of a yandere’s love is so intense that not just anyone can bear it and Victor Alucard is the best depiction of a husband worthy of a yandere love. Why do you ask? Because the dude is a hundred times worse. The MC is the definition of a psychotic lunatic, but it matches with the crazy wives by a perfect margin. The only thing that surpasses his lunacy is his greed for both battles and the need for the security of his people. all of which give you a very clear depiction of the MC’s character. At no point did I go, “Why did MC do that?” I was always going, “YEAAAAH, as expected of the MC!” When one arrives at that level of familiarity with a character, they cease to be just imagined figures but feel like real friends and people. 2. Victors Battle hungry drive, the Maids As a guy, I live the combat and battle chapters as who doesn’t like reading about super-powered beings. The Maid squad is also worthy of mention as I cannot wait for what they will do in the future. They are currently being trained but given the high requirements of Victor to a maid. These girls will be the bane of this novel’s antagonists in the near future. Victor needs no mention, MC is the personification of rage and fury when angered. While the recent chapters gave him something, he severely lacked. A brain capable of thinking two steps ahead (LOL). 3. Character Development Noted in the paragraphs above, the characters respond realistically to situations, problems, and circumstances like actual people. They recognized their faults and grew. You will not find cardboard cutouts from the main cast or even the supporting ones. Each is crafted with such care I can only tip my hat to Victor. 3 Things I didn't like 1. Usage of Vlad This is perhaps my biggest gripe, Vlad is depicted as the very 1st vampire and strongest being in existence, at least within the vampire’s borders. He is made to be extremely lazy and fed up with the world while being utterly horrible to his own family. He knows the problems nightingale faces, especially the dangers approaching, yet sits on his throne doing absolutely nothing. I don't know if he will have any significant contributions in the future as he is currently nothing more than a body for Victor to slice through. This goes against Him being a being as old as time, you would think he would smarten up a bit. Being strong yet doing nothing is an absolute waste for such a character. I found him the biggest eyesore while reading. Even his wives and children hated him, and it’s for a good reason because he is completely useless. 2. Increasing Harem While I like the fluffy and even lewd scenes between the main and supporting casts, the women around victor have become so numerous they are starting to blend together. There is only so much one can do to keep a large cast all memorable. With the three wives (3), their moms (3), the maids (7), Scalatach’s daughters (3), Vlad’s wives (2), Vlad’s daughters (3), the witches (4), Mizuki and Elanor, not counting the goddess and youkai still to be introduced. It starts to become far too crowded. The cast even lambasts Victor with this, lamenting why the number of women keeps increasing despite the Wives’ efforts to stop it. Too much, and even if he doesn’t bed them all, being surrounded by nothing but women, starts to do a number on the possible interactions they could have. 3. Underdeveloped side cast This relates to my earlier gripe; the chapters revolve around the groups above. The 2 friends victor dueled? Barely shown, he visited them once out of boredom and that was it. The wolf packs? Forgotten what seemed to be a tension-filled dynamic with them is left behind. His best friends? For all the importance shown at the beginning, including turning them all into super humans (3 turned out to be werewolves, and one is on his way to being an executor for the church). Anyone without a pair of breasts has little chance of being included in the story. Sadly, these well-established characters have to take backseats just for more women to join. Actual review So I wanted to do this review even though I no longer read My Three wives because this novel is one of the two that made me read a web novel. The world of a nightingale and the universe Victor (Author) has created is so engrossing and well-crafted that it would shame most triple-A game publishers. The writing is both captivating in description and narratives. You cannot help but want to read more. It follows a simple format but is done so well that it blows its competitors out of the water. As stated above, it suffers from some issues, but those are personal gripes, and general WN readers, I think, wouldn’t even notice. On the things it does, Combat, Fluffy, and Drama, it shines exceptionally Well. With that, I end my very long review on why My Three Wives are beautiful Vampires is so excellent, why it is doing very well and why it will continue to do well in the future.
