Review Detail of Snoflinga in She Belongs To The Devil

I was greatly disappointed in this book. It had such an intriguing premise and I’ve liked others by the author so far, but this one really needs a lot of work. Too many grammatical and syntax errors throughout, but especially at pivotal times, ruined what would otherwise have been serious, heartfelt or sexy passages. Lot of pacing issues that made me not care for characters and their fates; some topics and chapters were drawn out to death, others were skipped/rushed and we’re told that something simply is instead of being shown or getting to experience it. It felt very much like there may have been a loose plan at one point but it was just being made up as it went on after a bit. Lead female was too naive and self righteous, among other things, to really be likeable let alone anything special; I almost think it would have been better in all aspects if it had been from Theo’s point of view instead. Equally, from Nigel’s. In any case, a proper editor that could also counsel could really make this something great and polish it up. As it stands, 2/5. A draft with great promise but as a finished work, wouldn’t read again.
