LIKEIn reference to you saying you wanted to find novels similar to this one I also have struggled with that. I've tried so hard to find an urban cultivation novel that draws me in as much as this one did and I just can't. They either all already have an op mc or the story doesn't take itself seriously and its just a gag/joke story. And the romance in those stories are just plain awful. The characters feel so fake and the romance always feels so forced and cheesy. Oh and the cliches are just awful. They are all copy and pastes of each other. The amount of "ex military goes to live a simple life in the city" type novels I've found is just absurd. I've recently picked up the cultivation group chat comic. Do you recommend I read the novel or does the comic stay true enough to the story?
Ace2hunter:-Spoiler Warning- Just in case Based on what I remembered, Yes, the novel was pretty rushed. I didn't know why the reason for it but the Author can do whatever they want. The ending was also pretty unsatisfactory for me. But personally, I loved the story. I tried to find other stories that were cultivation based or at least dragon based theme afterwards because it was such a good read. And that's how I found Cultivation Group Chat (stopped reading at around 2300+ chapters) and surprisingly Highschool DxD fanfics, which I read for a while. For the storyline, I would say story was pretty consistent from the start. I forgot some of the arcs in story, but I like the part where certain characters interact with each other. There was also a bit if face-slapping which I did enjoy, as well as a lot of points where the MC interacted with his dragon life as well as his normal life. A fun mix that I enjoyed. Hao Ren really lived up to the title's novel, which was good. Novel didn't really sidetrack, and continued to pull me to read. It made me binge read it for four days straight. Although I have only read it only once fully, and re-read only certain parts, I would still confidently say that I would reread it once more if I have time. There are also many good arcs, but it would be pretty winded to type so much, so I'll just say what I have to say for the rushed ending. As for the ending, it ended on a somewhat good note, but was rushed as you said. This novel is quite short at around 900+ish chapters. I didn't like the part where the MC suddenly had a huge rise in power, then proceeded to fight the final boss that only appeared for only maybe ten or so more chapters. Afterwards was that part where one of the leading female protagonists had to sacrifice herself to save MC. (Apologies, I don't have a clear memory of who their names were, after all it's been a long time) I remembered thinking about how the MC could have done more to save her, but yeah I guess that's that. There was also the part where he fights his way through the layers of heavens that gave him a tremendous boost in power. Too much power leveling. The last few chapters essentially made like the past few hundred chapters of cultivation progress felt like worthless. Love the twist though when the Earth Immortal said he got Hao Ren's fate wrong, and that it was supposed to be the Dragon King's brother that should have taken the Golden rod and fight his way up alone. Also the ending with the marriage part made me so happy. It's like watching your favourite ships coming together successfully. In that case, just two ships lol. All in all. This is just my personal opinion anyway, no hard feelings. I feel that they should have continued writing more rather than just blitzing. Would love to see a short sequel of the novel though, or maybe short stories about it. Thanks for reading this long comment lol haha.
same lol, the dragon king and the vice principal was way off the mark, I forgot who's the blonde guy though...
XxNaru_Kun3848:I agree, this was the Very first novel i ever read. Glad to see that it got a manga adaption but it totally demolished the way i imagined these characters, haha
Sakusei:This one's also the first book I read here, like it was recommended to me
I'm kinda siding with you as well, my imagination does not match up with what I'm reading, and it's rushed from the start
SOMMO_ARCANO:I have read it too but I am disappointed with the adaptation
there are also several moments missing to make the story more coherent and beautiful, there are too many jumps and it does not explain things well, if I had not read the manga and already read other novels I would not have understood many things

I considered those two but ultimately never picked those two up. Are those a good read? If so I'll pick them up some time in the future.
YungBrosketi:So we all got recommended Dragon king son in law as our first novel on here? And we all chose to read it? The only thing that would make this weirder is if every1 also picked up Paragon of destruction as well. Oh and Supreme magus.
Supreme magus is very good in terms of world building, action, and quality of writing (starts off a few mistakes here and there Grammer wise. But they aren't too noticeable and mistakes are fewer and fewer as the story progresses). My only complaint is that the mc doesn't see a lot of character growth. Every other character does. The mc from the very start is cold blooded and gives 2 sh***. Not to say he's emotionless but he's no goody 2 shoes. Other characters see a ton of growth and its cool to see but the mc is pretty much the same person throughout. But this only applies up to around chapter 600 as thats as far as I've read.
