I feel you bro. After reading these trial chapters, I feel like I just wasted 6 hours of my time.

I agree, all the characters are so boring. No emotion at all, the way he talks to people is like he isn't even a real person, something like a puppet or something. Everyone who he meets are either trying to kill him, saying the usual trope kinda things like mocking him or can't recognise mount tai. Or they're like his master with hardly any interaction at all. There isn't any world building either. Granted, I'm only 15 chapters in but it's so fkin boring to read

The MC is apathetic and cultivates a legendary mental stabilizing sutra. If you are looking for drama and catastrophe, don't read a sign in novel because the whole point of one is that those elements are removed by the system. Really, cultivation novels don't really do conflict well. It's either face slapping or the MC being face slapped but somehow surviving anyway. I read sign in because the conflict tends to be so bad you may as well just cut to the power trip. Maybe sign in novels are cheesy and maybe you don't like them, but this novel is a stand out IMO because the MC is extremely consistent unlike other sign ins where his motivations are completely inconsistent. Also an actual FL is a huge plus if only because it erases the stupid CN mandatory harem tag.

Actually i think that's his defining trait, he is paranoid (living in the future), thinking that the only way to survive is to be strong, and what do you know? He was right. Without the strength he has gained from his system and cultivation, he would have died early, after all there is a limit to how much protection his master can do. And wasn't it explained that he has to reign his emotions, or else he will probably get a heart demon? Heart demons are quite significant in this novel and that kunlun cultivation manual actually didn't grant him full immunity (or else he would probably just looked in to the well). I'm pretty sure he is human, and he does think for himself, that's actually the thing that irritate me, he is to self centered (building up walls towards his master, even when he doesn't have a reason to do that) he has trust issues which combine with his paranoia becomes a full blown drive to become the strongest immortal (seeking power for it's own sake will never end well, but he is seeking power for self defense). I've read up until the latest chapters, he does change because of his girlfriend now wife, and his master does find out about his cultivation. although it took quite some time, we do see character development.

Wait until the FL show up.... it's keep getting better from there. Funnier and much more mellow. you've got to wait for at least 180 chaps.
