Translation? Mediocre. Story? Mediocre. Anyway I don't know if it's intentional but the Qian Dynasty in this webnovel here seems to be a terrible place to live in and I don't like how the Mc is just content to live in that. In the end I do not recommend reading further. Only good point is that the Mc doesn't have a westernized name. I am becoming way too bitter for this.

Yeah yeah sure... but morally he's not a hero I would follow. If he's not going to fight the clearly terrible system this dynasty follows. If he's not going to act interesting enough. what's the point of reading?

The MC if this novel is not a hero. Nor is he a villain. He is someone who works for the government, and has seen thousands of crimes dealt by demons, and lived his entire life in this world within the confines of torture chambers. He has no reason to go against the dynasty for others. He simply doesn’t care, because he isn’t a Mary Sue MC
