I've only read one chapter, but I can tell that it has a strong great introduction and almost no spelling errors, but it is told in 3rd person present tense entirely, which is incredibly difficult for me to read, it's like "the man's body glows and causes an explosion" stories aren't told in this fashion for a reason, a story should be like "the man's body flew and caused an explosion" idk the difference... but I can feel the difference, so i'm gonna have to put a hard pass on this novel

LIKEthere's really no right or wrong way of choosing which tense to use. Past tense, which you are used to, after all, it's standard, is used to tell a story as it's events and characters happened in the past. Present tense meanwhile, allows me to describe events and my characters' experiences as they happen, and not after the fact. And I like it that way because I feel that it's more immersive. but hey, to each their own.
I think it's unfair to write a bad review about a genre of a story, however I think it's fair to write a review about the execution of writing the story, I would've rated 1 if it didn't have so much else going for it
Intayaw_din_Dagem:I just think it's quite unfair to leave a review, no matter how bad my novel is, just due to the tense I used in my writing. that's not on me. it's on you because of your preference.
