Review Detail of rotten_cabbages in Making the second male lead fall in love with me, the villainess

I stopped on chapter 184, because honestly, my heart couldn’t take it. First of all, I’m in love with Geoffrey- like literally. Okay, let’s first do an assessment of the main characters. Don’t be deceived, as much the title says second male lead and villainess, the main character are actually ml and op fl. Serena is in no way a villainess. Like she doesn’t even have a stroke of bad luck reigning on her shoulders, literally everything goes her way. Everyone loves Serena. And she also has that telltale ‘world revolves around me’ brainwave of an fl. (Maybe some people won’t agree with this, but that okay, this is my honest non biased opinion). I stopped liking Serena the moment she took advantage of Geoffrey to express her jealously over Charlton. Then she started acting like all that matters is love- like what the hell. Villainess was are meant to be strong headed, grounded and aware of the feeling and lives of those around them and not ‘I’m willing to risk it all.’ I’m also not so satisfied with the interaction between charlton and Serena. I appreciate R-18 content but is there a time when those two don’t have sex in the name of love? No- there isn’t. I like cute fluffy selling Meng type couples. Those whose interactions make your heart swell and not stop on bodily interactions. Which is basically what American style writing consists of. (Not that it’s bad, it’s just not satisfying) Meanwhile, Geoffrey, who has stolen my heart, is the actual second male lead. He has the sad back story, persistence in love and the level headedness of a second male lead. I mean, the author should have just made him an entitled asshole but oop! He became the second male lead. Like- all his actions are so cute. I mean, a future monarch should be more cold hearted. Sigh! I don’t ever fantasize about joining the royal family, because honestly, life there is just sad. But this guy actually made me want to or at most write up a character deserving of him. Unlike Charlton whose POV gives the impression that most of what he sees is Serena’s physical beauty, Geoffrey seems to see her for all that she is and well- just love her. Honestly, I do want Serena to end up with Charlton, because Geoffrey deserves so much more- he deserves a break. I didn’t like him at first but seeing how soft and genuine and trusting he actually is, if I could transmigrate, I would just jump on him and kiss him. He actually believes in being chaste till marriage- so cute. Look at the man Serena is going to destroy, honestly I can’t watch. Lastly, Emily isn’t the fl, she’s just a pitiful cannon fodder that always has to die under the burning light of Serena. Emily isn’t even a second female lead, she’s a straight up cannon fodder. Other than that, the story is well written. I will not be continuing with it though. The only thing that creeped me out was the ice cubes scene- like where did he put that ice cube? Naaaahhh dude.. don’t do it.
