This book is the first I've read on this platform . However I'm currently on chapter 1149 and can't go further .Here is why.First, the pros :- The writing style is light, which makes the read more enjoyable.- There are very few mistakes.- The updates are rather constant.- The side characters are entertaining( especially Klaus and Reynolds).- There's no info dumps. Then , the cons :- The world. If not for the author's clarification and the mention of horses at times, i would have ever known that the MC was living in a medieval era. Nonetheless , the later chapters( 100 I think ) do establish the basis of the world without doing a massive info dump, so this point is only valid for the first 100 chapters. On the other hand, this world is nothing out of the ordinary. It's just your typical cultivation world.- The Mc is too perfect .Grey has no shortcomings , which makes him unreal. He is an unparalleled genius , has a high IQ , is tenacious , serene and even wise for his age , has powerful backers( friends and family); what does he lack ? It's also so boring , because you always know that no matter the situation, Grey will never really be in trouble( plot-armor and his own strenght are his trusted backers). - What is Grey's goal and his motivation ?Honestly , I think the current me wouldn't have read so far into this book, because it is really only appreciable when you just focus on being mesmerised by Grey's show of dominance. In reality , it has been the sole purpose of Grey's adventure( after he had proven everyone that he wasn't the trash they said when he hadn't awakened at his first try).So even when he encounters problems , it is all just a pretext for him to grow stronger and then face-slap his enemies. And even when he can't deal with things himself , the powerful plot-armor( family , friends, teacher) still saves him.In truth , Grey has no proper goal to speak of. He just says he wants to get stronger . But why? His motivations( which are inexistent by the way) and even his goal are too shabby for people like me who've already read so many better books. But maybe those who haven't might enjoy it( just like the past me at some point).** Many people have already criticized this , however the author has changed nothing. I guess he won't give Grey a proper motivation and a proper goal so this book is already doomed for me.- Is Grey an anti-hero or a hero ?Sometimes he would say that he doesn't want to intervern in other people's matters, but other times , he would do just that. So finally who is he ?If even it was portrayed as a morality struggle for Grey , it would have been acceptable. However , it is very evident that the author only makes Grey act according to the way he wants the story to progress. - The chapters shorten the further you read and most of the book is just filler chapters.I don't know exactly when , but the chapters must have shorten in length around chapter 200~.I don't mind short chapters. However short and VOID chapters are just a no go.Sure having filler chapters between this or that event is a good thing. However , not only are those chapters shorts , they are also repetitive ( Always the same situation Grey enters a trial land and/ or meet enemies and friends) in this book's case. All in all , this book isn't worth it if you're an experienced reader.
