I stopped after the BS with Nyx, why BS? Because the MC is supposedly an expert assassin, but is scared of her so much that he did not think about why they did not destroy him in the first place, then he would have known they couldn't with his protection or there were huge repercussions. The MC design is purely random, when he faced Ottar that could kill him he doesn't feel fear but for her yes. WHY???

Well then let's see: -The MC is being stalked -She appears and clearly tells him that she can kill him whenever she wants -She tells him, "join my familia, or you die" -He accepts since "she doesn't leave him the choice" If he isn't scared, then what is he? I can't talk for everybody else, but I think I'm not the only one that got this feeling.
