I do understand. There will be many people like this MC characterized by their circumstances. But if truth be said none of these people can be greatest at anything. These people are what we call mediocre. They might be average at best. This is exactly what I said in my review. It is you who didn't understand properly brother.

Its called lazy writing, almost every novel on this site fits into that category. It's easier to just use plot armor and dumb luck instead of writing a good story where character actually works for his skills, and in a realistic facion, unlike mc in xianxia who do unrealistic impossible training that nobody could do with perseverance only while they are mortal before cultivating.

the people from back then simply didn't have the physical knowledge we have now. I doubt the average level of "intellect" is higher then the average from back then. I could even see them having more "common sense" because there is people with actual power that they should fear. Maturity is also a huge thing I'm certain was different between the people of then and now considering the average lifespan and the dangers they faced.

i agree the current arc im on is garbage so many chapters for so little to happen and none of it have any actual meaning in the story. not to mention for the past 10s of chapters emery isnt even in the novel instead focusing on a cringe julian and the two others being bad at everything

mc is not dumb, he is way too much dumb. The princess is way too much irritating and top of that, the protagonist he way too much righteous.
