Good idea but the way you wrote it is stupid. Firstly Miraak is no hero, he wouldn't care for the plight of elves nor even consider saving them. Most importantly why the heck is the mc 10 years old while interacting with adults like some equal. Now just imagine if some 10-year-old guy boy talks to you like some 30 years old, that would be weird and you would be freaked out and suspicious. Also the whole atmoran culture you presented as barbaric. Atmorans were a powerful magical civilisation with complex architecture and magic. Not some idiot brawlers swinging axes. Lastly, no parent would allow their child to leave for 8 years alone in a new continent. Overall all these points ruin the story for me.
