Review Detail of AbyssalSword in Lightning Is the Only Way

A lot of people drop it early due to some holes in the plot...but that's the point of a damn STORY! It draws you a line (Main character), thickens it (World-building and character introductions), starts adding some holes in (Adds mystery and foreshadowing), starts filling in the holes (Progress with the story and does some dramatic reveals), and finally solidifies its look and hangs it on the wall (Ends the story). I love that the final destination is shown from the beginning. It really gives Gravis a goal, not just blindly discovering new levels hoping it's the last one. I believe that the romance is on point too. Gravis and Stella aside, due to their perfectly matching personalities, the fact that the author knows there's a chance for love to blossom from friendship, and not just love from first sight BS, is amazing to me. I'm always a sucker for romance, and not the playboy loves all his girls romance. I mean, one person loves another romance. It shows their hurdles and it shows how they go through them. The author really knows how to make you feel for Gravis too. The parts where Gravis feels alienated from everyone in the lower world was a heart breaker, especially with Skye leaving him 😭. You can also feel his resolve when he uses Samsara to bring back Mortis. All in all, one of the best stories I've read. Characters are realistic, world building is great, plot is decently paced, and most importantly, MC was not given this unique opportunity that would make anyone on his level. The Opposer had millions of children, Gravis just happened to be one of them that had the right mindset. He worked hard, sacrificed some things, lost some friends and is only one fight away from the Heaven's Magnates. If Warmaisach decides to write another novel other than "Sword God in a World of Magic", I'll definitely read it, not saying I won't read his new one. Genius writer.
