This novel is contradictory in my head. This novel is a rollercoaster of emotions, leaving readers with conflicting thoughts. The cultivation system introduced in the story is satisfying and complex. The author's ability to create an extraordinary protagonist is commendable. The clever actions of the main character consistently surprise me, and their personal development remains consistent throughout the story. This consistency is a testament to the author's skill in crafting a compelling narrative. However, the novel takes a drastic turn when the author decides to introduce a harem element to the protagonist's journey. This sudden shift in focus, where the protagonist collects women as members of his harem, undermines the otherwise amazing novel. The inclusion of a harem comes across as unnecessary and detracts from the story's original appeal. The women in the story lose their relevance and become forgotten as their numbers increase. This approach not only diminishes the impact of these characters but also wastes valuable chapters that could have been spent on developing the main story further. The author attempts to justify the presence of the harem by striving to make these women powerful and significant to the overall narrative. However, this effort proves to be futile, as the sheer number of women in the harem makes it impossible for each character to receive meaningful development. As a result, the inclusion of the harem becomes more of a distraction than a valuable addition to the story. The zenith of the novel is experienced during the protagonist's travels with Su Mei and Bai Lin. This part of the story showcases the potential of the narrative without the harem element. Sadly, the quality of the novel plummets thereafter, failing to recover from the negative impact of the harem concept.
