Read a little bit. The first 2-3 chapters were interesting. Then everything went downhill from there. MC is supposed to be smart but tends to piss everyone off for no fucking reason just of a massive ego and child like attitude. And then the author piled up cliched situations upon cliched situations till I felt that even reading this was a chore. Won't recommend this web novel to anyone. It's really bad. I don't understand how people can stand to read this.

Being smart doesnt mean not having an ego and being level headed, In fact most smart people have the biggest ego and act the most arrogantly because they think their higher IQ somehow makes them more important then others. You can be a brilliant inventor while also having a short fuse it all depends on how you were raised.

People tend to have that assumption towards others they deem smart due to a simple bias. There are far more "dumb" people that are egotistical and arrogant than there are "smart" people: in both gross numbers and percentages. When a "dumb" person is arrogant and haughty, it is usually easily dismissed due to them: not being able to back up their claims, not being in a noticeable position, or not being a good speaker. The reason people tend to think of "smart" people as arrogant is generally because they are capable enough to make it to high levels in whatever fields they chose. People in those levels are often more noticeable and therefore stand out more to the public. So, combine a noticeable position with an eccentric personality and that person will be remembered by people. Of course, there is also the issue of entertainment generally portraying smart people as arrogant and haughty. There is also an issue of many of the smartest people not ever going into the public spotlight. It is usually people that are of slightly above average intelligence that act the most arrogant and tend to conclude that they are right. (Like me seeing this bias and writing this rant 😁) * I put smart and dumb in quotes due them being extremely subjective terms.

Thank you for this interesting bit of information but talking towards the original topic my point still stands. Which is that being intelligent doesn’t always mean your level headed and or never make rash decisions.

It's not that he has no wisdom. The mc definitely knows himself as well as his flaws and ego. It's just that he accepts everything in himself including his arrogance and vanity. He knows his flaws but doesn't bother changing them because he's confident that's just who he is.
