LIKELooks like you forgot that the "real" racist stuff came WAY later after several hundred chapters. I'm still able to roughly remember it despite not reading it for so long, is due to the fact that it truly was surprising to see the great novel (relatively speaking of course, compared to like 99.99% Chinese novels) turning into such a racist stuff. Well, thanks to my amazing patience I was able to read through it all, and was later awarded with more of the content I wanted to read. In short, don't base your opinion on just 31 chapters. That is as good as barely knowing nothing about the series when it comes to the CN novels that are mostly 1000 + chapters long. I can actually see it turning the same, if not worse, eventually. Better don't have such high hopes as you seem to have. Anyways, thanks to you pointing out that this is a 'spiritual successor' to IRAS, I'm going to try it very soon.

Since it has been so long since I last read it (so still way behind the the latest translated chapter), I can't say anything for sure, but I vaguely remember the whole racism thing being not as prominent after those unreasonably, racism-filled chapters (it was an arc if I remember it right). Like, who would believe that Japanese students, and especially those who were sent abroad and thus are representatives of their proud country (Japanese take great pride in their mannerism, so much so that they even look down on the people of other countries for not being as well-behaved), would ever act like some ruffians? It's like making fun of the intelligence of the readers. Though I get that it was originally written for Chinese readers, who have been brainwashed with all sort of propaganda by the Communist party, so they would hardly find anything wrong with it. It's a fact that even those young Chinese who like anime and manga (products of Japan), still feel both love AND hate for Japan. They love the things about Japan, but due to all the hateful things that are taught to them since their childhood, they still feel some degree of hatred towards Japan. Naturally, they will cheer for the Chinese as they deal with the "ill-mannered" Japanese (that joke isn't even funny when the entire world knows about the Japanese culture).
Valven:True. I’ve dropped IRAS at around 700 chapters, does the racism change for the better after that?

Like I said earlier, I don't remember it well after all this time. I can vaguely recall two such racism based arcs, that you mentioned as well (Japanese students arc & South Korean idol arc), but other than that I don't remember the racism being so prominent later on before I put it on hold due to various reasons that have nothing to do with the series itself, and I have yet to pick it up again as I've been busy with other stuff.
Muspon:no not at all take a look at the korean arc and japan arc
The Japanese one left the deepest impression due to it being utterly unreasonable and nonsensical, and it was also the first thing that turned IRAS into an actual racism-filled work, so it is the one I remember immediately when talking about racism in IRAS.

Guess I didn't read those arcs, as I don't remember him ever going to those countries. I stopped reading during that 'Chess/Go (?) arc' I think, when Zhang Ye met the female lead's parents. Well, if he actually went to those countries, the whole racism thing was bound to be happen. Nothing surprising at all. The safest arcs are those when he is focused on tackling the issues in his country, as the author isn't going to change his view of those countries after a few arcs in between. That would be illogical and thus, too much to ask or expect of him.
Muspon:thats not what i am talking about what i am taking about is when he went to korea and japan
