Review Detail of Loyalscum in Soul War: Journey to a new life

I love this story absolutely amazing i need more of it. But i do have one problem i can not for the life of me figure out what was going through the robbers heads. The first robbery gone wrong resulted in him killing a woman for a ring then for the hell of it he also burnt their hows down. The second one is robbing people at the cemetery in full view of a cop who immediately notices the guy after first shot. Why are both robbers psychiatric? First guy was not a robber he was an arsonist the secong guy was just roming the grave yard hanging out with his other friend looking to add another to the group when he heard the old mans story and act the part of the robber to give the old man the chance to risk his life for someone else like he always wanted. That second robber was a good Samaritan i would even go as far to call him a hero.
