Review Detail of DaoistDuck in Rise of the Demon God

Shallow characters and cliche, even shallower, plot. This novel is one of those novels that require you to turn your brain off in order to enjoy it. However, even then I couldn’t help but sigh or roll my eyes with some developments in the story. If you want a fun, easy read then this is probably not for you. If you want to read a trashy, typical, low-quality Xianxia then this is gonna he perfect for you. I should mention that the writing quality is really good and effort has clearly been put into the formatting.

Hey, Author-san, (NOTE: This is just my intepretation. You don’t have to agree or disagree.) I am not on anyone’s side, and I will try to look at this as objectively as I can. A lot of authors have a problem when a reader writes a review after reading 11-30 chapters. Understandable, given that the actual story length is more than 100x of that. But, to the reader’s defense, the reader might not have the luxury to continue reading something that gives first bad impressions. There are many books that may suit the reader’s taste better. In addition, it’s not the reader’s duty to “wait” for better character development. (I can understand if authors are annoyed because the reader complains about something like wanting to get to the action scenes quicker. Some scenes require building up to create tension and emotional impact.)

close to the end of the synopsis the author wrote that the first 10-20 chapters wasn't the best, and that this was his first book so he hoped that us readers would try to at the very least read 30+ chapters before judging it. so I don't think that his reply was to show that he disagreed with the review, but to rather tell everyone that reads this review was written after Daoistduck read 11 chapters. where even the author admitted that it wasn't the greatest start of a novel. (I have started reading this novel yet so I don't know anything about this except for what was written in the synopsis)

I see. I suppose I was too quick to judge and misinterpreted the author’s meaning. Thank you for giving me a heads up.
