TLDR: It's aight; Above Average Power systems (that still follows the conventions of an eastern fantasy), Ok characters (at best), Good writing quality, meh world building (so far at least I'm on chapter 256) I guess the main reason I'm not feeling it like that is because of the MC lol. I'm honestly confused why people like a main character that's this ruthless. I get it, it's a breath of fresh air. No one likes the hot blooded, slightly dumb, reused protagonists anymore. Maybe you like the MC's determination to benefit himself over all else or his confidence in his ability. But I really find his character lacking. It's like character development in this novel is mainly measured with their growth in power. The MC has a fixation on getting stronger that goes past obsession. He is willing to abandon, betray, and kill people to benefit himself - all for the sake of getting stronger. His character is just a one-dimensional personification of 'the ambition to get stronger'... but then you have certain moments where it's a contradiction of this character. Namely moments when he interacted with his mom, his first teacher, and with June. While reading through scenes that showcase both extreme points in his character, I start asking why does he want to be stronger? Usually getting stronger is a means to an end, but not for this MC. What does he really want? Let's say he ends up at the pinnacle of cultivation, what then? He completed his life goal, it's impossible to get stronger, his enemies are dead, he has no one (friends, family, acquaintances) left since he probably betrayed, killed, or abandoned them to benefit himself and the rest of the people in the world/universe or whatever don't help him in getting stronger so he just doesn't care about them, what now lol? Let's say you use the "there's always someone stronger" argument, then at what point does the novel end? Him dying from cultivator god #43 with his own mindset used against him? "Blame your weakness." ? Honestly this isn't really a review I'm just rambling my thoughts. I just feel like I had to share after MC killed two innocent fishermen for no reason except he wanted to hide even the smallest of clues that would lead to him and a lot of people were ok with that or egging MC on. I also kind of had enough of the people in the comments or reviews praising the consistency of the MCs character and diss the people who point out some criticisms. I don't intend to influence the author in any way (not that he would listen to a random anyway lmao), in fact I have respect for people who take the time to write a story, I still haven't started drafting the novel I've been itching to create for the past 2-3 years. I have nothing more to say as of right now. Thank you, especially if you made it this far.

Still continuing the novel as of rn. Still confused on how MC chooses who he wants to kill vs people he treats normally. Still sorta frustrated he killed those two fishermen lol.
