One word -> A-D-D-I-C-T-I-N-G ! Just the first 20 chapters and I’ve already made the decision of MTLing the raws. From the sypnosis you expect a weak FL who’s getting trampled by everyone. Don’t stop on that. Because I did and I would have found an hidden gem earlier If I didn’t come upon it on novel update. What attracted me was that it was the only novel published on webnovel with high ratings on novel update (4.4 ratings when all other webnovels are either rated at 1.5 or 3 on this site.) The FL has a strong character but doesn’t have the means to protect herself. Here comes ML to support her. From what has been seen so far even if we’re still in the cold CEO tropes he doesn’t seem to be an abusive one. There’s a realistic undertone in this novel, it’s more down to earth, more realistic than any other novel at least on the romance part. There wasn’t any spark from the beginning between the lead on the contrary you can see their romance building little by little. The fact that autor gives an hindsight on ML point of view in his encouters with FL is just wonderful. It makes you understand more on why ML is interested in FL. The drama is not over the top and it changes a bit from other modern romance tropes (in the way it is written but on the theme because there is still the white lotus stepsister and stepmother, heartless relatives, etc but it’s so well written that you can’t find faults at least for the 20 first chapters). I just hope that as the story evolves FL will stand on her ground more even without ML. And that ML just remain as he is and don’t fall in the abusive type category, knowing that there are 1600+ chapters everything could happen so...

Maybe we didn’t fall upon the same novels... even Good morning Mr Dragon (or Mr Long don’t remember the exact name) is rated 1.8 on NU but 4.1 on WN and there are a lot of other novels in the same situation especially the abusive ones which are all rated between 1.5 to 3.5 for the higher rated (that’s what I’ve said in the review). Now thinking about it you’re maybe right there are some well rated WN novels on NU but they are mostly from other genres like cultivation novels (GDDBM, Ghost emperor wild wife,etc). But in the contemporary romance genre there are really to few which are well rated on both websites except Trial Marriage, Hidden Marriage and Di Mo’s novels this was my first time encoutering a contemporary romance highly rated on both websites. So to conclude this long essay what I was trying to say in the review is that there are really too few well rated contemporary romance novels on both sites so it’s an insurance in itself that this novel is highly rated on NU and people should really try reading it ;) (well after reading the raws my enthusiasm dropped a lil bit but I still it deserves its actual rating)
fionalinaariganasu:Um sorry to say this but there re tons of webnovels that have high rating on nevel updates. The least I have seen is 3 stars. Even the ones that have abusive mls or rape have 3 to 4 stars. I'm still not sure whether I should read this.

Same here I can’t understand its rating... oh it could be because when you’re rating a novel there are categories where you can only put 5 stars I mean even if the novel is trash in itself still the translator did his work and updates daily so the overall rate can’t be too. (I always do that but maybe I should reflect on it because is it really ethically and personally right for webnovel’s translators to translate those novels with abusive ML ?)

Oops can’t remember it’s been too long and I’ve read too much novels since quarantine so I have no memories of this one 🤧. Try to search for spoilers on novel updates or on web novel’s forum u should find the answer on one of them
