Quality light novel ruined by a poor translator. The person seems to directly translate: conjunctions and punctuation included. This results in many awkward sentences with commas that make them grammatically incorrect.

I concur. As a fellow who is fluent in Korean, most of the translation is good, but the translator tried too hard to keep the translation as accurate as possible. Most fan-translators would use an interpretation of the novel as their translation and avoid unneeded detail and keep it from being too wordy, but it seems Qidian's translator wanted to stay true to the original novel as much as possible without care or thought for whether the translation makes any sense to the readers or not.

In essence it's pretty much equivalent to machine translated novels. I believe that keeping certain nouns/pronouns in the romanized form would be sufficient to keep the feeling intact.
