In one scene he folds and makes Nannans bed because "only he can touch his wife's bedding" A little after that he decides to confess to Nannan on New Years as he takes her home. At first she didnt take it seriously until he was like "no I'm serious. I want to marry you. Military marriage no divorce " In a military marriage its basically impossible to get a divorce. So this convinces Nannan that he was serious and she decided to agree. Because he was always there for her when she needed it, and she idolized him from her previous life. After that, ShengLi would come over with his mom like it was her idea whenever he could the chance. ShengLi mom liked Nannan as a daughter but not as daughter in-law.
