***Spoilers*** No he isn't. He will mature to be savage and towards the end he's going to be the depressed and insane one. He would never be emotionless but there will be a shift in mentality. It's like watching the fall of something innocent and noble. However the progress will be very slow and gradual. You'd start to see darker sides of Zero in Season 2 arc but by season 4 you will be able to see the selfishness start to surface in a not so likeable way.
