This novel was very disappointing, even though it had very interesting story,, it started with very cliche and controversial plotline which I'm not a fan of ..non consensual s*x. I absolutely hate how the characters were completely racist douchebags, specially female protagonist. I felt pretty bad for Japanese, German,American and Indian readers. It's good to have patriotism for your country, you don't have to demean all other nations in such cheap way. It was very very cheap, sometimes it was too much, I wanted to stop reading it. That wasn't enough, female lead is completely garbage!! She is not only racist, but very childish, she doesn't sound like an intelligent and matured woman at all!! I remember how petty she becames when it comes to ml's admirers. That one admirer was always labelled as dumb because she was naive, other admirer was body shamed by female lead for not being ultra slim like Chinese women. What's there to even like about her?

I totally agree with these points, I kept reading only because I was curious about FL’s family and identity and I liked how they were slowly uncovering the truth. But I’ll be dropping/holding off the book for now cause it’s becoming increasingly difficult to stomach as the FL’s racist and discriminatory behavious becomes more blatantly apparent. I also feel really bad for a lot of side famle characters who gets portrayed as evil and stupid just cause they’re naive even when they haven’t actually done anything wrong.

yes, fl's hidden identity is very interesting. that was the reason why I was reading this novel. there will be many big revelations. But if author wasn't this cheap and narrow-minded in showing his/her patriotism in the form of insulting other nations and making fl throwing vulgar comments on other women, I would have actually liked the novel.
