THANK YOU cause it seems like everybody here is looking on the sunny side and completely overlooking the very obvious racism taking place in this novel😔😔😔

I understand. It's totally disturbing for me. I really tried my best to read the sunny side of the story however the repetitive disgust towards women of color and the obvious disrespect towards diversity just threw me off. I'm doing this because its wrong to promote such narrow-minded mentality towards women who come from different places. I mean out of all the things to put in a novel, they should know what is the limit to their content. The only 5 stars I gave was to the steady updates from the translators. That's why I have a rating of 2.5. I know its hard to update everyday but at the same time they should have chosen a different novel to translate.

Its jst a novel... N dey wer jst teasn her... Jst njoi d novel n go with the flow... Olready u hv mentioned once so author ll keep in mind n ll nt put such dialogue in her next chapter... However u cannot say somthn regarding her face change n plastic surgery, bec author might have som story line fr it.. May be atlast she ll turn into Tang xi once she takes her revenge.. Who knws? So be patient with the novel, give it some time...... I have read novel n so far i really likd it.. Its nt at all lik full marks hidden marriage, bec she dsnt want thm.. N she loves wht she got frm her current fam... I loved i chose this novel..

Racism is sadly rampant in many asian cultures, even xenophobic between asian countries (some for grudges of wars or land disputes, others are prejudice/persecution passed on from generation to generation). I do not like nor condone it, and majority of these c-novels aggravate me with the stereotype beauty ideal standard for any heroine or female lead in romance, but, i also think there's been some lost in translation of hyperbole about her 'blackness' not being a direct comment towards race but a weird asian obsession of beauty culture being pale white skin over any tanned, especially for women, where the asian language tends to use the words for black as an indication of darkened tan (so still same race, but disparaging based on skin tone all the same). Whether rich of poor, it's a deep-seated appearance-based judgment on human worth that is atrocious and ridiculous yet these fictional novels do little to nothing to dispel the mob masses from perpetuating it. One novel fan-translated story called Gu Fang Bu Zhi has a heroine that's a top-class beauty but skillful and smart, yet sadly still blends misogynistic male archetype with forceful sexual congress when they weren't not mutually amenable to it. So many cultures and religious factions are persisting with excessively patriarchal standards so until the masses can shift the popular vernacular and perceptions, the pop-culture and modern perceptions will remain stagnate (っ˘̩╭╮˘̩)っ Sorry to reply to your specific review but thought at least 1 person might see that it's not a full-on racist hate reference about the 'black' skin described, but still not vastly far off in the degree of prejudice/disdain based on such a superficial and insignificant aspect of appearance defining a character, worth or potential that perpetuates such stupidity to the masses (original language readers or translation readers alike as not all will critically ponder the impact in fictional stories)

It’s anyone’s opinion whether they want to read the novel or not I don’t think they’ll give it time because they’re offended I don’t think you’re a black person from how I read your reply so I don’t think you understand how it feels to be insulted like that like this happens constantly being the degraded for your skin color even if it’s in just a novel it’s really disgusting and rubs me and other people the wrong way
