This novel is neat, I’m only at like 10% and the first few chapters were quite nice. You know, classic mech building and capitalist shenanigans. The war arc then starts. It’s neat, I’m also ok with it. Not as much of the fun process of building a custom mech as before though. I grow bored, I have the attention span of a toddler so the slow-burn drains me. I think maybe it’ll be a few more chapter until it will end. Nope. Read a few more. Nope. Read a few more. Nope. Check chapter number, realize that Ves has spent more time with the Vandals than he spent with Carlos. Carlos L. Check how long the war arc is. …. Carlos is never going to be seen again at this rate. Another Carlos L. Read reviews to see what to expect in the other 90% of this novel. Hear Ves will be forced into a romance plot with a jerk. Hear the mom which seemed like a jerk will continue to steal from Ves. Hear the system won’t really be a focus from now on… Actually I’m ok with the system, there are already too many novels with systems. Neat to hear the protagonist will gain his skills through more conventional and hopefully creative ways than spending points and getting rewards. Hear the protagonist’s progress will grind to an halt. Nooooo!!!!! Overall this is a good novel, if long. Not exactly the best one for me since once again, I have iPad toddler levels of patience and slow-burn is my natural enemy, but a lot of people will probably love it and be able to read through it all with joy.
