While the story so far (I've only read the beginning currently) is okay it doesn't really feel like anything special either. More of the typical cultivation fighting novels in a modern setting. I'm not a big fan of the propaganda parts and don't care a lot how the author loves to portrait the chinese country in a light that makes it rather unrealistic but apart from this the novel is quite good, especially if you're looking for 'more of the same' of the usual cultivation/martial arts novels.

No no, it's not in a modern setting. That's just the intro part. Read a bit more and you'll see that the story will really start when he goes to another world. It won't take you that many chapters. Maybe within 10 or 20? Maybe even shorter. I forgot.

I read till chapter 40 at the time and I'm now finished. Webnovel is not accurate about tracking chapters especially when you jump in between them later on. That said except for the now changed setting the other things still hold true.
