Could've put them in a more dire situation like lock them down the basement with 100 walkers pounding the door. Just get them out with hershels unlimited ammo shotguns. Stranded in a rooftop isn't really bringing the tension cause those walkers could end up wandering off. You could just have them forget by giving Mc the whole hypnosis skill or super charisma.
