To be fair, Nick just admitted to indirectly killing the entire Dregs, causing mass death of hundreds. Nick didn't tell Simon the full details, just the final death count. Can't fault Simon foe labeling Nick a irredeemable monster.

That's a good point. Mordret could've been deprived of his most powerful ability in this case and just got instantly overwhelmed.
