I'm at ~chapter 500 so far. The twists and turns this story takes hit you like a truck you never saw coming. I can understand other people's reviews at the beginning of the story but I would say just keep reading. This is not your typical entertainment story and the main characters are very distinct. The love doesn't get old 💕 and it has been developed well. It is also not too emotional. (I am typically someone who just won't read further if it becomes too emotionally heavy, as I read for fun).

At least like this, Daphne wouldn't be allowed in the kitchen, where she had access to a multitude of knives and other sharp objects.

I think you make a fair point in this specific context. Although, as Daphne has pointed out in internal dialogues, she was kidnapped from her home before she was set to be married to someone else ... If you put yourself in her shoes as well and imagine if you were kidnapped, I swear all politeness/ etiquette would go out the window. Plus, if your partner made you believe he was poisoned ... that's worth the personal vendetta. I'm not exactly trying to say you're wrong though but to put things into a larger context if that makes sense.
