I plan for James not to trust Albus completely, but not to treat him as an enemy either. It's good for him to have him as an ally in the war versus Voldemort, even if Albus is a manipulator. As for Regulus, I'm thinking of giving him another destiny and that he ends up becoming friends with James. The Fl I don't plan to be Lily. At first I had thought of her as James' main crush, but then I thought another route would be better and have him fall in love with another girl. Yes, James will be more open to the magic thing if it's dark or not. He will reflect and think that in a war it is best to use the most efficient magic and not be guided by the precepts of society.

Glad you like it. You can look up literary archetypes to help you structure your story. Besides that I read a lot of novels, fanfics, etc to know how the writers structure the paragraphs, how they build the plot and how they develop the characters.
