What are you talking about? Millions of years? The The Imperium of Man has only been around for 10,000 years, and don't forget their technology has regressed greatly from their golden age. The 40k in Warhammer 40k literally refers to the year it is set: year 40,000.
The power armour they used was a simplified version and only tripled the strength of the user. It was an inferior armour, had less life support systems and used 21st-century technology, including night vision thermal vision, targeting assist and augmented reality. It was big, bulky and heavy, but extremely mobile and flexible. He was in the Army Cadets
Although Konrad knew that it was safest to let his soldier lead, he still preferred to be in front and take the lead. Since he was now a general, how could he cowardly hide behind his soldiers? He must be the bravest and charge onwards towards danger! Of course, Konrad knew that wasn't what generals really did in real life. During modern wars, the generals would stay in the backlines and command the soldiers on the frontlines. In no circumstance would the generals be in any mortal danger, let alone lead a squad into enemy territory. However, this was a new world! Konrad was full of excitement and bravery and simply loved the feeling of holding a gun while exploring an alien, dangerous and new territory.
