It can also translate to the english word "Empire"

However little did the knight know, the Third Reich had always had the word "Empire" in its name. Yet, their standing did not come from some vague, vain title or the accumulation of centuries. It came from their pure, iron strength. A proof, carved from the blood of their enemies.

Shortly behind the Paratroopers marched the infantry with noticeably heavier weaponry and uniforms. Most of them carried the Gewehr 98 bolt-action rifle. Their shiny bayonets shined in the sunlight. Every 50 infantry on average, there was a machine-gun squad. A machine gun squad consisted of 4 people carrying an MG 08 machine gun, meaning 1 gunner, 1 assistant gunner and 2 ammunition bearers.

Basically means you are filled with an inflated sense of confidence and security when you hold a gun

Konrad split his guns and ammunition equally between him and Erwin. Loading his magazine of 30 full metal jacket 7.62x39mm rounds into his Kalashnikov, Konrad was full of confidence. He thought of a saying that he heard on Earth, "When humans held guns, they even dared to fight God!".

    Regular bullets

A thunderous roar instantly emerged from all sides of the base. Flashes of fire shot out the guns as the air was distorted by the power behind each bullet. Dust shaken up by the recoil of each bullet was instantly blown away by the shockwaves.

Well, I'm certainly not as motivated from when I first started, and I'm very busy at the moment so there's less time, but I'll keep writing if people keep reading.

They wear Wehrmacht uniforms, I just realised that I never clarified it in the book. I'll edit the story to clarify that, basically the native army is like the Wehrmacht and the source army the SS.

What are you talking about? Millions of years? The The Imperium of Man has only been around for 10,000 years, and don't forget their technology has regressed greatly from their golden age. The 40k in Warhammer 40k literally refers to the year it is set: year 40,000.

The power armour they used was a simplified version and only tripled the strength of the user. It was an inferior armour, had less life support systems and used 21st-century technology, including night vision thermal vision, targeting assist and augmented reality. It was big, bulky and heavy, but extremely mobile and flexible. While their training and experience could not be compared with real Space Marines, they were still masters in combat and Konrad hoped to eventually catch up to and even surpass the real thing.

Yes, but he is at risk of losing his other emotions, like happiness.

Konrad didn't wish to become an absolutely rational being, after all, he wanted to enjoy life.

He was in the Army Cadets

Although Konrad knew that it was safest to let his soldier lead, he still preferred to be in front and take the lead. Since he was now a general, how could he cowardly hide behind his soldiers? He must be the bravest and charge onwards towards danger! Of course, Konrad knew that wasn't what generals really did in real life. During modern wars, the generals would stay in the backlines and command the soldiers on the frontlines. In no circumstance would the generals be in any mortal danger, let alone lead a squad into enemy territory. However, this was a new world! Konrad was full of excitement and bravery and simply loved the feeling of holding a gun while exploring an alien, dangerous and new territory.
