I'm getting tired of this plot. I understand the plot, I remember all the steps that Jang Ilso had to take to create and strengthen the Evil Tyrant Alliance. I understand how Jang Ilso exploits people nature. I understand how we got to this point but the outcome is completely unrealistic. In terms of sheer power, the Ten Great Sects and especially Shaolin should be able to wipe the floor with the Evil Tyrant Alliance. Shaolin have basically unlimited resources and have long martial arts tradition. They should be a complete powerhouse, they should produce top notch martial artist in regular manner, they should have the biggest martial artists army and yet we see they are outplayed by some randoms with poison
I tried to read the MTL to the ch. 1602 which all people are so exited about. It hurt my brain so much I will not do it ever again. I will just say THANK YOU to our Bagel_Seeds who is doing exceptionally good work!
Being in the ten great sects doesn't set a standard. Southern Island Sect is great example. Look what happened to Qincheng sect and Emei sect. Few chapters before there was a statement that Jang Ilso didn't expect that Emei Sect will be conquered without any problems - he thought that is was too easy to win. Anyone from Mount Hua should be way more powerful than anyone from Southern Edge Sect 2'nd and 3'rd class disciples because they got the Chaos Origin Pill (many times) and this strange fluid acquired in the North. It was emphasized many times that there are no shortcuts in cultivation time (beside mentioned Chaos Origin Pill and this fluid) - this is why Mount Hua elders became so powerful after learning Divine Violet Mist(?) technique
It is good time to bring the Southern Edge Sect back to our attention again but I feel that something isn't right. The disciples of Southern Edge Sect were quite weak and it was already said that effort isn't enough to become strong. Moreover they somewhat abandoned their old martial art and created new one so I assume there is no grand master of the old martial art. So now they should be like Mount Hua at the beggining of the series
So, now what? Big battle between orthodox factions and evil factions, but what will be the outcome? It doesn't feel right to let win this battle to neither sides because if orthodox win then the influence of Jang Ilso will be reduced to nothing, otherwise if evil factions win then this basically means that Jang Ilso will win not only the battle but the war and there is no one who can stop him at this point. I guess that we will see see a third solution, whatever it may be. Big thanks to Bagel_Seeds! You fight with the remaining untranslated chapters with the same courage and involvement as CM fight his enemies
The previous chapters were very emotional. Fighting till the end and even beyond that, being at the death door and still showing the will to life. Although the rescue team arrival was a bit clische, I think it works well in this case. On the plus side: Most probably this healing will be used as a plot device to make CM even stronger. Many thanks to our dear translator Bagel Seeds !
