Evelyn nodded her head and turned her attention back to her journal. She was glad that Maxine would be joining them, and she looked forward to learning from her. She missed having a girl friend to talk to while she was away in the fae kingdom, and she could tell that she and Maxine were going to be fast friends. She detailed her time in the fae kingdom and then she went about crafting a list. She made a detailed account of everything that she wanted to learn while she had the opportunity. She wanted to learn more potions, how to use a sword, learn more runes, and enhance her magical abilities. It was a short list, but those were the most important things right now. She needed to be stronger if she was going to live up to everyone's expectations. She sighed and closed her journal. They urged their horses faster to catch up with Clyde and Evelyn could not help but to wonder what was on his mind. "If that is all, you are free to go," Clyde dismissed him. He had a lot to think about. If Evelyn could in fact read thoughts he was not one hundred percent sure that she had not read his. He struggled at times to keep him wards up around her and it made him nervous to think that she would have read his mind when she awoke the other day from her dream. He got up from his seat and grabbed the bottle of blood wine from the table. He poured himself a large glass and downed the contents. He did not want to think about the possibility of Evelyn knowing they are mates yet. She still had a long way to go and he wanted to be sure that she could protect herself from his enemies. He wanted so badly to tell her about their mate bond and he had his suspicions that she could sense it, but it was not yet time for him to tell her. He had made up his mind that once she mastered a few more skills he would tell her. She needed to be strong enough to handle herself before he even thought about telling her.
