I think it would make more sense for them to respawn/come back into the nightmare worlds. Not like earth since they have no teacher/anchor on earth. They get put in the stronghold of the pyramid. If those millions of ppl somehow make it out.

Maybe it was the Dread lord. Can’t do op commands such as die. But can command his opponent to fight with fury/resolve that is unwavering. Since he is corrupted his mind is also demented to want bloodshed and agony.

It could be bad sunny was trying to corrupt good sunny bc of an order. And the key/muzzle has an enchantment that prevents sinny from corrupting good sunny and to make him prevent good sunny from encountering corruption.

All I am saying. Everyone was theorizing how Kai was bad. But maybe just maybe I think somehow nemphis died. So then sunny told Kai his true name and told him to command him to create that key and survive. Therefore although he is getting corrupted he had to obey best of his ability. Hence saving future cycles of the cohort.
