He started to fight with cultivation power in the very last chapters, but he's not a fighter at all.

No agentivity at all, well I think I'll stop wasting time, this novel is sadly trash, the previous was better.

Ridiculous plot hole. If mayor's wife death was permanent, hence his supposed vendetta against vampires, then it means everyone should know the mayor's family is probably not in light faction. Btw, with this rule it should be so easy to rule out traitors.

They definitely have balls, hiding inside light faction territory knowing that if they die inside the safe zone it will still be a permanent death.

Character development doesn't mean starting from stupid. The way you go is just facility, and that's not very mature. Plus, we can understand inexperience in combat or wits from the mc, but he regressed, he's not a child but a grown man, he should at least has common sense and agentivity. Here we have the impression of a 12-year-old kid led by a magical grandfather who offers him everything easily (he just follow the plot like a programmed mc), but you make it seem difficult through bad artifice. It's like the cliché of trying to make the hero smart by making the universe dumb.

/// A/N - Please have patience with Max and this book, it is one with character development.

It doesn't make it more interesting at all. It's just a cheap way to create "funny" reactions, but honestly the idea of "dominant female" making fun of the mc is just repetitive and annoying in this novel. At least, it's not my kind of humor. And it doesn't add anything.

The plot is utterly bad, author previously said that characters can't die in safe zone, but now there's a conflict based on death. Just ridiculous, how can we take the story seriously...

I think even with a character like Gloriana, it could work somehow. The real issue is how Ves react to all this, and not only to Gloriana (basically to all 'strong' female characters). To put it simply, he lets himself be walked over and is cruelly lacking in dignity. If he'd been able to influence Gloriana and make her understand who's boss, it could have been an interesting development. The worst is there's no shortage of lacked opportunities, often Ves save the day with incredible abilities and wit, but Gloriana still treat him like a brat, like she's inherently superior to him. And when Ves has the last word with Gloriana it's unfortunately only ever superficially, there's always this toxic confrontation between them. Spoiler: To add to this unbearable aspect of the mc, he has now clearly and voluntarily become a girl with his avatar (female cat), and is treated as such by his family, with dubious undertones. Personally, this doesn't make me laugh, it just makes the mc look pathetic in my eyes. Somehow, it's like the great novel of the author is contamined with his dark side and fetishes.

The mc is the patriarch of his clan, which is like a spatial moving kingdom.

I read up to 4500 chapters, here's what I think. This story can be really enjoyable and very frustrating at the same time. It's very slow paced, and above all there's a lot of chapters that go further in technical details (I admire how the author can imagine and write all this), it's both a strong point and a weakness. You can see that the author is very passionate and his universe is incredibly vast, rich and consistent. But if you focus on the development of the story, then you'll probably have to read diagonally, without dwelling on all the lenghty descriptions. But once you've gone through hundreds or even thousands of chapters, you have to admit that this slow pace has given the story, the characters and the universe a lot of depth and consistency. It's the case with the Bright-Vesia war. Now I'm gonna insist on two point that could make you respectively continue or drop this novel. Spoilers warning. 1/ First, I think this novel is one of the few that explores the power and abilities of the mc in surprisingly logical yet still positively unexpected ways. The power to bring mechs to life seems simple at first, but the author manages to get so many variations out of it, not missing the details and implications, and above all, the progression and discovery really has the scientific feel. This also fits in well with the universe and motivates the development of the story, mixing practical challenges alongside more philosophical conceptions. 2/ So what could make you drop this amazing novel? One name: Gloriana. Or should I say the disproportionate influence her ridiculous views have on the mc and the story development. I'm sure the author wanted to create an original female character rather than a boring, likeable, romantic interest ; and to be honest, not all her interactions and dynamics are bad. It's like the Hexer Federation, despite being ridiculous, in term of psychological scope and background, it adds some deph to the universe. But the issue is both the dose and the impact. It's often more unbearable than anything, and Ves the mc has become quite pathetic. I dunno if the author has a personal inferiority complex towards women that he projects onto his mc. But between the castrating mother, Gloriana, the new "big" sister, it gives this kind of idea. And from my point of view, this unnecessarily parasitizes the story, to the point where even if you take it with a sense of humor, it becomes tiresome.
