Even as a child, I can't accept any praise when I know that my good(selfish) intentions have led to unwanted consequences.

Even though I felt bad for the damage and destruction I had caused, as well as the harm I brought unto every one, Alphonse's praises felt good.

Don't insult my favourite alzheimers guy

'Mother Anabelle, even though I'm an old man and this makes things a little awkward for me… you're such a great woman!' I wept internally.

Which genius proposed this bet anyway 🤷‍♂️

I felt an ache within me. My heart pounded, and it hurt a lot. Seeing his tears, watching my mother's caring, yet weak eyes, seeing the destruction I'd caused, and the expressions of all my spectators… it finally dawned on me… how selfish and insensitive I had been.

It would've been better if they all died besides the MC. Nameless lowlives. He would've had the best character growth needed.

"… Yet, they're all worried about you. Your mother didn't even think and rushed in to save you. Do you not feel anything even after seeing all this? Is your mind still fixated on magic and magic alone?!"

That's right. The tutor should've taught him the cautions and dangers in using magic, but it's actually understandable that he got slapped out of being overwhelmed by the circumstance. Imagine a child playing with fire at your house? You just have to literally slap some sense.

"Anabelle, I won't let this slide. He needs to learn the repercussions of his actions. What he did is unacceptable!" Alphonse spoke back to my mother.

He wasn't exactly raised properly by his previous parents in his past life. They let him grow up believing in something(using magic) despite the evidence that his past parents are inept. In addition to that, he was led to a delusional perspective that became his drive to create "groundbreaking" discoveries and theories. It's not so bad, actually. I sort of expect him to end up like this. Reckless and tactless.

'This is the first time I've been hit… since I was reborn…' My mind trailed.

Close enough, but this makes a flash lightning only, not a thunder storm.

These negatively charged electric particles are drawn toward the positively charged ones on the ground, and as the opposites attract, a stepping ladder is formed which results in lightning!

I feel like having a qi deviation with this logic

As ice crystals within a thunderstorm cloud flow up and down in the turbulent air, they crash into each other and small negatively charged particles are knocked off some of the ice and added to another ice as they crash past each other.

While boiling hot water does freeze faster than room temperature/lukewarm water, the rest of what you said is actual false. Oxygen does not slow down the freezing. It doesn't separate during boiling either. Only electrolysis can do that. The reason why water freezes faster when evaporated is because the IMPURITIES are mostly filtered by boiling. PURE WATER(H20) freezes faster, and just like what the MC said, steam, also known as water vapour which is water in gaseous form. If it had that so-called "oxygen", it becomes hydrogen peroxide as oxygen is normal in gaseous form.

Most people do not know this, but hot water turns cold quicker than lukewarm water. Using this logic, and speeding up the process with magic, the hot steam created by the impact of my [Water Ball] with the burning Rock Golem was frozen at a fast rate.

It doesn't. Rocks have a very low thermal conductivity; they're heat resistant. And since the fireball made an explosion, only the surface area is heated.

'Its body temperature should have risen to a considerable degree.' I smiled.
