I think the lost shadow in the estuary is there to form a domain. Time doesn’t pass in the outside world when in the tomb of Ariel so the moment the lost shadow enters, he will escape at the same time as a sovereign. I think this is the reason g3 made it so they all share the same soul cores.

NThe dream realm is real. It's just different worlds that have been absorbed by the nightmare gates. Basically it's-Dream realm is the consequence of the nightmare spell. Whilst nightmares are created by the spell that recreates a past event from the dream realm/other worlds. So to answer your question, sunny can still go to the dream realm

This is could foreshadowing. Nothing changes in the estuary when the great river resets. So when nephis completes the nightmare, when they should escape, sunny doesn’t escape and is stuck in the nightmare endlessly because the great river reset whilst he was still in the estuary. That’s why I believe the past sunny scratched, ‘be careful what you wish for’ all over the flotsam because he was trying to warn his past self that just enters the nightmare to not pick the option of leaving his friends behind because the other option puts him in an eternal loop. But he also has to be vague enough that it won’t mess with his decision making when trying to complete the nightmare. A subliminal last ditch effort to escape the endless loop. This could be a trap set up by Cassie to trap sunny in the great river forever. Like an eternal prison. In this case, if sunny stays in the estuary after the gang complete the nightmare, and long enough for the great river to reset one more time, his friends with have escaped without him and they wouldn’t even exist in the great river anymore. But this never happens because sunny figures out Cassies plan to imprison him in the nightmare each time and escapes the estuary to redo the cycle.
