My theory is that maybe these two are immortal but are destined to die over and over again. Maybe they are related to Ace's plant powers.

What just happened
Blood poured out like a waterfall from the cut on the boy's neck. Instead of trying to cover the wound reflectively, he reached out and pulled the golden-haired boy with him down to the waters, as he did not even try to struggle. The two sank to the bottom of the lake, part of the water turning red and angry before turning back to its clear blue hue and calm surface. - NAZMA_HAQUE3mthCommented
