first of all this is my first book on webnovel, second of all I've read to chpt933 so my opinion may differ with everyone, overall the book is great some may even call it a master piece, in its own way it is. the story progression from sane insane total insanity then cold unfeeling being is soo good, people may say the mc is unnecessarily ruthless but if put in his shoes would you go announcing to everybody you are the child of calamity??and if you did will the god love that as entertainment?? i ma seem evil by saying this but whatever Shang did and has done to reach where he is is not bad, to me he's just another dude trying to survive in a world where everything is out to get him yet the god still wants him to entertain HIM, i know i a normal person were put in the mcs shoes would be already dead with all of you trying to share your secrets trying to get allies like (Lucius, but he still couldn't tell them his affinity meaning he still lied to them because he knew they wouldn't agree for him to be powerful) so in conclusion just read the book and see if it fits you ,to me it was a very good read.

to me this book was actually great, the mental trauma of Alex going to Shang, the way he battles with his humanity yet circumstance forces him to be otherwise, and when he finally doesn't care people actually start to hate him. I may not be the best at recommending nor reading novels, but at least i reached chapter 933 and boy oh boy was it juicy,he sacrifices so much for power and why? People may say just for power but from where am from he needs the power so that nobody can ever be above him and dictate how he lives, we are even shown how fucked up the god is, after seeing Shang having "safe" progress he straight up kills his teacher and supporter just because he saw him having it easy.plus people like complaining about how boring and bland he is but even you put yourself in his shoes. If you were left in an island to fend on yourself ,the island has cannibalistic people a jungle with different animals that have the potential to kill you yet to them you are the cause of destruction and are hell bent on killing you if you are found out to be "IT"(i mean the cause of destruction that is) so if all of that happened to you would you still love humanity? Have empathy on them? Even if they found out you are the reason for destruction and try endlessly to kill you would you still love them? the answer is hell no i wouldn't and whoever says he would is a cunt who doesn't seem to come to terms with reality, everyone wants to survive everyone wants to be the one not dead so why would i care who dies ?why would i empathize with the potential murderers and threats to my life?? and to the first comment am sorry if the story was shitty to you but don't base your judgment on a couple of chapters better yet if you haven't finished the book or read enough to know something of relevance to the story don't comment just let everyone enjoy and find out if they like it or not, people like you are what made me drop so many good books thinking they were shitty and reading stupid books filled with endless harems ,stupidly dumb isekai protagonists and over exaggerated plot armor.in conclusion this book isn't bad and it isn't good either, to someone who wants an op and plot armor filled protagonist this isn't for you, this is a realist depiction of what would happen if a normal guy had to survive in the wild and every thing was out to get him
