You just want a copy of the first book, this is a sequel. A natural progression of the world with a new perspective that we never got in book 1. Klein started in Loen, was from our time, became an official before even becoming a beyonder and had guidance all the way through his introduction to mysticism. Lumian is a direct parallel to that. He's from Intis, he belongs to the current era, he's an unofficial beyonder, and he's in way over his head with his introduction to the mystical world. This part of the book is clearly not Klein's story, stop treating it like it is.
I fell like Aurore is being too loose-lipped with her references to Old Earth. Even if it's just with Lumian, it's irritating to see that she thinks she's safe just because she believes she's on another planet. Like, you gotta be way more cautious about it with this stuff.
That doesn't make much sense. It's more similar to Roselle's use of "home" in his diary. They believe they've left Earth like all of the previous "transmigrants" did when they first awakened. Even Klein who was the quickest to find out, didn't find out until after he'd already come to terms with him having been above the gray fog for thousands of years. If any of them knew at this stage, they would've lost control.
It also depends on the pathway. Remember some pathways are more adept at combat at lower sequences than others. Considering Aurore seems to be of the Mystery Pryer pathway and she's facing a team of 3 Beyonders that are likely in the sun or hunter pathways, even if she was a sequence 6 she'd need to have sufficient caution. But because it's implied that she refers to herself as a Warlock (because that's what Lumian calls her) I do agree that she's only a sequence 7. I just think only referring to the sequence number isn't the most sure-fire way of gauging a Beyonder's strength.
