He still went back in time and did all that, but I think the point break there was when he eavesdropped on the Naraku plans and thus went back in time earlier to point where he still would have been able to do this. He lost the opportunity to create the empire he was born in by eavesdropping on the Naraku Empress and thus instead of time traveling he created a paradox where the timeline got erased/reset to point where he could create the first FTL.
Further confirming that he was right all along. The survival of his people, and their exile to Germania, something which allowed them to become a Galactic power in a mere four centuries, was all thanks to him. - Saif_Ali_83574dCommented

See this didn’t make too much sense to me unless they implanted this in her clone brain before waking her. But the implication is that they didn’t and thus this is a contrived plot point which doesn’t make any sense.

Let me correct this, with his temporary Harem to stand in for his permanent harem members Erich was ready to tackle the galaxy with a new set of holes.
Erich had collected a team of six qualified individuals. Mirage for espionage and infiltration, Mala for brute strength, and heavy firepower, Sinaria for diplomacy, interrogation, and safe travel through Svartalfheim space, Kali for her connections to the criminal underworld, and Tia who could fill in for just about every role.
