Agreed, their behavior is illogical but human behavior is more often than not, illogical. There are many instances where the few put their interests and wants before the needs of the many. This story is just highlighting the consequences of such actions.

Don't agree with you. The leader of the dream pavilion acknowledged his presence and even acted upon the opportunity Leonel created. That's also why he made the announcement. It was for Leonel's sake. He just didn't bother sharing with those extremely selfish cowards. It was pointless to discuss it with them because they could care less. Everyone's behavior made sense to me. Well written in my opinion.
