Nobody who saw her entering the bedroom with the guy, clearly not ok, did something. She was raped. Some time after she killed herself. He’s in jail now. So, this romanticized drugged “one night stand” is kinda brainwashing. Not romantic at all and a very dangerous idea of love even in a light novel like this one.

I agree with Doris. Doris could be the typical villainess not villainess FL in any other novel. And Mu Zi the white lotus. She didn’t think about her family, a good and caring family, she didn’t think much about being a mistress. And I think when she knew Gu Qiwu was going to divorce his wife, she couldn’t stand it. The whole situation was crated by Gu Qiwu and Mu Zi, their selfishness brought suffering to everyone who cared about them and even death
Doris actually felt that she and Mu Zi were both heinous sinners. She had always been clear of her position, but the biggest difference between her and Mu Zi was that even if Doris bore any desire for love and resentment, she would never let the people she cared about be hurt. The thing is first her father broke her and her innocence, perhaps she’s the typical thoughts of love and family and obviously she chose Gu Qiwu thinking this guy from other place could be different. And the. He repeated the same trauma. Actually I quite don’t understand why throughout the novel the character portrayed as the totally evil is her and not him. He played with the daughter of a close family, the Mu’s, didn’t take responsability and kept their ambiguous relationship… Keeping her as a mistress, marrying someone else not only for money and power but he really thought he loved Doris seeing her a better woman instead of Mu Zi. He knew about his son, his daughter, but decided to stay in the shadows causing them shame for quite early age. Causing Doris felt shame, the very lady he admired for her pride. He trampled on that. And so on her love for him. Which woman would be understanding? Mu Zi, who ended killing herself? And then, he created a fake marital relationship just for appearances and power. He even try to manipulate Gu Lingsha in order to marry her with Mu Yuchen, and Mu Lingtian to be by his side, succeeding Hui Gu AND the Mu Group just for HIM. He didn’t want his relationship with Mu Zi to be public, nor his paternity. He didn’t repent much less try to make amends. He’s just using Lingshi to punish Doris, not even thinking about Linghsa because she’s useless for him. HE IS THE REAL EVIL AND MONSTER OF THE STORY.
