And so, I mostly stayed in my corner. Thinking back about it, I might've been bullied but it is hard to say – I might've just been quite the wimp. I lost my appetite and started giving away the lunch my mother gave me everyday while learning to lie efficiently so that she wouldn't notice. Quite a counterintuitive behavior right? If being thin was part of the problem, eating a lot would have resolved the issue right? Well, maybe, but no matter how much they called me a genius back then, a 7 years old child sometimes doesn't even know the most basic things. I just didn't feel like eating, that was all. I repeated the story, the one I would tell the authorities to justify myself. But I wasn't stupid, there was simply no explanation for what I did, nothing that could make for an absolute defense. Worst case scenario, I would get arrested without even having the pride of those prisoners who knows they are innocent. Even though she is a vampire, she would be dead normally.
Each move I made was worse than the last and trivial compared to the next one. You know about that – trying to fix a thing you care about again and again even when you know it is pointless. Good remark. 🤌 You are the first to actually point it out. Well, she was indirectly invited at some point (in the early chapters) but how exactly she stayed unaffected before will be explained later. A clue : vampires are only affected if they acknowledge that a place belongs to someone
