I'm rereading this (for the 500th time lol) after I finished book 2 and I agree. the way I see it Maxi is always comparing herself with other female characters in the story (her sister and Agnes) and wanting to be more like them but in the end, she will not. and even though she may consider that a bad thing we saw how her abilities were more unique and more helpful to the war. and not to mention her relationship with the knights and Riftan.. this is one of the things I love about this story. Maxi isn't portrayed as a perfect fl (especially in her own eyes) but she works hard to get better and improve and will be perfect in her way.
She imagined herself shooting flames from her hands to vanquish monsters and raising storms to sweep away invaders. Then, she pictured a proud Riftan pulling her into a tight embrace. The thought was enough to put a broad grin on her face. - Mtsuki1mthReplied to cyrilla_dagher_1127

i know the side stories were supposed to be released longgggg time ago but they keep getting postponed. I have bittersweet feelings about this😭😭 one on hand I love the ending and peaceful feeling Maxi and Riftan finally experienced. on the other hand, I feel we didn't read much about them in the final chapters. seemed like kjs wanted to resolve all remaining topics so she didn't write much about their private life. hope we can see more of them in side stories that she plans to release. Nevertheless, this is one of my favorite books and I have and will reread it many many times and still enjoy it.

I feel the same way! I started reading this about a year ago after I read the webtoon. I wasn't expecting much but I got hooked. I was going through a very hard time so this was my escape from reality. the story was so well written I could totally forget about what's going on in my life and enjoy myself even for a little bit. I've reread the story so many times and always looked forward to new chapters now I feel kinda empty..:(

English is not my first language As far as I know, Riftan will defeat breston and he will be liviiid asking riftan to kill him instead of sparing him. but Riftan will say something similar to :You'll have to live knowing I speared your life twice during the duel. he won't touch the sword, everyone will be disappointed at first, but then by pure accident or something else a ray of sunshine starts shining and the pope uses that to say god is giving us his blessing and use it to his advantage. another spoiler . . alsoooo riftan will pledge Geas to Maxi!!!
