Heck, half of them would never develop a skill that was actually useful during a war. No matter how cool a sword skill was, artillery still existed. I‘m still confused about the time period. Is it modern times since they have telephones, trains and artillery? Or are all those inventions more rudimentary and not comparable to our tech and therefore it‘s a pre-industrial period?

this has to be linked with project mars. i can‘t see why derek would take such a huge risk otherwise. imagine he implements project guardian and asher still kills guilds and individuals even though countries and individuals alike gave up a part of their freedom for this complete surveillance und the guise of security. he‘ll be scrutinized and could lose the support of a lot of important people. so i don‘t see him doing that without it being linked to project mars.
