I feel like Sunny desperately needs people around him. He may not want or think that but it seems to either what keeps his insanity in check, or at the very least, he judges how to act off the people around him. Maybe he even just tries to keep it under control because other peoples lives are impacted by him. But I feel it’s really showing it’s head here, and Sunny is struggling.

More specifically that his memories of that time were sealed, reverting to the time of first entering. Also Oblivion is the answer feels like he might need to destroy the memory… or himself ☠️

Hear me out, what if the second idea is true. Sunny may have learned an unbearable truth(A terrible secret seems to be mentioned concerning the pyramid) inside the nightmare, and in an attempt to save himself from it he was forced to create this item thus sealing himself inside it. That sealed person might very well be inhabiting the sin of solace. Who by all standards is not acting much like it used too, the sealed Sunny knowing Sunny wouldn’t trust it, he’s leading Sunny to conclusions in an “Unhelpful manner” by having Sunny look for things the “Sin of Solace is hiding”. Perhaps any changes that Sunny took on were reverted by traveling through time, or are somehow stored within the item. In retrospect it’s a little outlandish, but it would be so cool!

The silent understanding, they knew what they had to do, it didn’t make it easier though… I’m waiting for Sunny just to resolve to kill the winter beast or die trying and save everyone.

Waiting for the Iconic moment where Jet orders him to go, just like Nephis, but this time he can say no.
