Very rarely do I appreciate realistic fiction. this has been completely captivating with a rich plot development that reminds me of the magical "abandoned prince" movies, but in a modern mafia setting. the author grasps interpersonal relationships very well, and the pace develops with the exposition at just the right speed. now if he would just crank out a few hundred more chapters by tomorrow, I'd be happy!
Slice of Life isn't even my wheelhouse, but this is strangely compelling. I love it. Keep it up! The MC is incredibly relatable and I love the way you spin the drama into something simple yet believable. The dialogue feels very natural too.
While you can struggle a bit to read it, the fast paced action is worth the read. I look forward to seeing how Nolan deals with the 'virtual' world and I love how quickly the novel moves. There's no filler in this one! Keep them coming Author!
This novel does a great job of portraying someone who has always been a Villain, but is unwittingly the protagonist now. The humor is there, the arrogance of a main Villain is there, but it is tempered with intellect so that he doesn't become complacent. I find the chapters to be compelling and driving me to see what happens next. Author, keep it up. This has a unique flavor that I don't get to enjoy on Webnovel much, obviously added it to collections :)
I'm glad you appreciate the style! I admit it is a bit stuffy in the first chapter, but that is to set the mood for a man who has existed in solitude for an indeterminate period of time. I promise the action comes soon! Lastly, here's a reward: There are things that are seemingly irrelevant in the first chapter that give clues to massive pieces of the plot later. I hope you stick with me to the end!
Author here. Shameless self review to get my voice out there like so many before me. If you like or dislike the novel, please let me know. This is my first novel, but it is something that has been on my mind for over a decade. I am American (yeah I know) so the plus is I don't really need a translator as long as I don't type in my accent. Below is a fun fact: Oh btw, this isn't based on anyone else or inspired by anyone. I found out later after I started writing that one of my tribe names was real in Papua New Guinea, so I incorporated the other tribal names instead of what I had originally come up with. If you are from PNG, hope you like that little tidbit. Otherwise, I'm sorry, I don't really think your people are snakes or toads. Life just works that way sometimes.
I'm glad you are enjoying it!
