Kaio ken doubles a person’s power. (goku base + kaio ken = Goku base x2 Kaio ken x 2 doubles Goku’s power once more (Goku base 2x + Kaio ken x2 = Goku base 4x) Kaio ken x 3 Doubles once more (Kaio ken x3 = Goku base 16x) It is multiplying his power in kaio ken state, giving him multiple stacks on top of his already transformed state. (Goku base X2 = Goku New Base) And if that’s True, (Goku NB(2x) is equal to (Goku base x4) This is the interpretation after realizing that the author of dbz never actually went into depth about how kaio ken works. nothing is concrete about the skill. Haven’t been in school for a bit, but I’ pretty sure that’s sound. It Goku is exerting this much power from his body, then it would make a lot of sense why King’s training was so strict and intensive. by multiplying his power so much in the saiyan saga and Frieza sage, he put himself on the verge of exploding as his body was far more frail earlier on in the series. This may be my own head cannon, but it would also make sense why he didn’t pick up the ablity agian until he got his godly transformation (which instilled within him a healing factor)

When gero was was made aware of Trunks, he realized that there was more research to be done. That was when he decided to start over from scratch in order to take a deeper dive into saiyan dna. That was when he discovered S cells in this story. Originally, he lazily allowed the Ai on his computer to hand lle his research, but realizing the Mc was ridiculously strong, he know he had to take matters into his own hands as his Ai delete crucial data that it found redundant. That made gero wonder what else had been deleted. This is why it goes deeper than just him recording new techniques. He’s looking deep within the genetics of every Z fighter, making sure there is nothing he glances over.

Okay. there are markers in the human genome that connect us back to apes. As you know, apes have far superior muscular structures compared to the humanity of now. Trunks in this story had all of his genes unlocked dating back to both the human side of him, and the primitive Saiyans of dragon ball. Ancient Primitive Saiyans were far stronger than the current Saiyans.(Examples: Cumber, Shallot, and Yamoshi) Trunks, being a saiyan, is related to Primitive Saiyans. Think of the ramifications of him wishing to have all of his genes unlocked. If we humans in real life made that wish, we would have tails, fur, and a whole bunch of other functions for our body that were phased out through time. FYI
