I want to explain some things about this chapter. I originally planned to release it just like the last one, something between 5-6k words. I didn't realize my og comment was about the Boltons. Yeah, I agree that marriage wasn't enough. The way they do things in the north was to conquer and take your wife and daughters. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a time in the past about the marriage of Boltons and the Starks. I disagree. Starks almost always married either their own bannermen, other first men houses or Stark/Karstark cousins. The idea of marrying outward to form sweeping political alliances seems to not have existed much before Rickard matches Brandon to Catelyn and Lyanna to Robert. It works for thousands of years.
